Introduction to NIV Visa
The NIV (National Innovation Visa) is a visa category introduced by the Australian government on December 6, 2024, aimed at attracting top global talents to immigrate. Applications for this visa will officially be accepted starting from December 7, 2024.
The Australian government hopes that through this project, it can attract top talents from around the world to Australia, enhance the overall strength of Australia and support its long-term development.
The NIV application is a priority processing category for the Australian immigration department, with a fast processing speed. For the 2024-2025 fiscal year, the quota for NIV immigration is 4,000.

This visa mainly focuses on the applicant's own qualifications and is suitable for outstanding individuals who have achieved remarkable accomplishments at an international level, including but not limited to: scientists, various professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, athletes, musicians, artists, writers, journalists, etc.

2. Outstanding athletes, musicians, artists, etc. nominated by federal and state governments
3. Innovative entrepreneurs and investors nominated by federal and state governments
4. Outstanding individuals who have achieved outstanding international achievements in the following fields:
-Key Technologies - Health Industry - Renewable Energy and Low Emission Technologies
-Agricultural Food and Agricultural Technology - Defense and Space - Education
-Financial Services and Fintech - Infrastructure and Transportation - Resources
5. Achieve outstanding achievements at the international level
-International top awards for special and outstanding achievements in this field
-Obtaining the highest level of research allowance in Australia or other countries indicates that the individual is in a leading position in their field
-Having a doctoral degree and possessing high-level academic influence or thought leadership in their field
-Recently delivered a keynote speech at a highly anticipated international conference
-Obtain an offer from an Australian employer or have an existing income that meets the Fair Work High Income Threshold (FWHT) in Australia (currently an annual salary of AUD 175000, with the FWHT amount adjusted annually on July 1st)
6. Nominated by the Australian federal, state governments, Australian industry organizations, or individuals
The nominator can be the Australian federal, state government, relevant industry organizations or individuals in Australia. If the nominee is an individual/organization, they should be an outstanding authority in the same field as the applicant and one of the following options:
-Australian citizens
-Australian Permanent Resident
-New Zealand citizens who meet the criteria
